Gait And Pressure Analysis

TOG GaitScan offers the most up to date gait assessment technology available.

As a patient walks across The Orthotic Group's sensor mat, 4096 electronic measurement points scan the foot in motion 125 times per second to determine the exact pattern of weight distribution throughout the stride. This information is displayed on the monitor in both 2D and 3D dynamic assessments of the feet. The entire scan process takes only minutes and enables the technician to compare the patient's results with that of an optimal foot, a pronated foot, a supinated foot or any of the patient's previous scans.

This diagnostic tool has been specifically engineered to assist with the assessment and diagnosis of foot biomechanics. The TOG GaitScan system measures the distribution of force throughout a patient's foot during each step, identifying high-pressure areas and gait abnormalities. The system is equipped with enough sensors and speed to accurately graph pressures exerted during the stance phase of the gait cycle during both walking and running. This information allows FootPrints Orthotics to custom select the most appropriate orthotic with the precise correction required for each patient.

The TOG GaitScan includes full detailed reports making it a valuable part of the permanent patient record.
